STANDARD TERMS OF CONTRACT

Laurence Usher House clearances defines the terms and conditions of House Clearance as any of the following or a combination there of;

1. Removal of some or all contents of a property for disposal, recycling or resale where appropriate.

2. All items removed during the House Clearance will become the sole property and responsibility of Laurence Usher House Clearances, unless being transported for the purposes of the customer by prior agreement, with the exception of condition 8 herein, and including condition 5 herein

3. Costs where possible will always be agreed prior to commencement of the clearance.

4. Transportation of customers' personal effects may or may not be carried separately to other items being removed.

5. Not all items carried directly for customers can be covered by the company's standard liability insurance. It is therefore deemed by Laurence Usher House clearances to be the responsibility of the customer to ensure that they have asked Laurence Usher House clearances to provide written confirmation of cover for individual (valuable) items not covered within the standard terms of our liability insurance. This condition applies to items being carried for the customers own purposes not waste items.

6. At the point of costing an agreement will be made with the customer as to how the property will be left, i.e. swept down, vacuumed or fully cleaned, basic clear etc.

7. In certain cases Laurence Usher House Clearances reserves the right to insist on part or full payment where payment for services will be due, being received prior to commencement of work.

8. Laurence Usher House Clearances reserves the right to charge the amount of any taxes, value added tax or duties as imposed on the company direct to the customer on top of any charges that have been previously agreed.

9. The house clearance may involve some items being broken up if they are too large, bulky or heavy for removal from the property in one piece, or in instances where it is considered removal in one piece may risk causing injury to staff or property.

10. The customer should be aware that although every effort will be made to remove items from the property with care and consideration there may be times when cosmetic damage to decorations etc may occur and Laurence Usher House clearances accepts no responsibility for any such damage caused. More serious damage will be covered by the company's public liability insurance.

11. Disposal of dangerous objects and substances will incur additional costs over and above standard clearance costs and condition 12 will apply if said hazards were not prior knowledge to the company.

12. To provide a safe working environment for our staff & customers as far as is practicable and possible. We take our responsibilities for health and safety seriously and precautions & training are given to our staff where necessary to promote competency in role. If a situation arises that for any reason compromises safe working practices or could endanger members of the public we reserve the right to cease operations and reassess the situation. Any additional costs arising from the above will be discussed with the customer prior to recommencement.
